Office 365’s Word Keyboard Shortcuts

Word is one of the most popular word processors around.  It is definitely very powerful.  Below is a table of what I think are the most useful keyboard shortcuts.  I hope you find them particularly useful. They are not any order.

Ctrl + CCopies selected text to the clipboard
Ctrl + VPaste selected text from the clipboard
Ctrl + XDeletes selected text and puts it in the clipboard.  When used before Ctrl+V it allows you to move selected text.
Ctrl+ Shift +CCopies selected format.
Ctrl+ Shift +VPaste selected format.
Ctrl + BTurns bold on and off
Ctrl + ITurns italics on and off
Ctrl + UTurns underline on and off
Ctrl+ Shift + WTurns on and off word underline
Ctrl+ Shift + DTurns on and off double underline
Ctrl + Shift +ZRemoves formatting from selected text
EnterNew line
Enter + ShiftNew line break
Ctrl + ECenter paragraph
Ctrl + JJustify paragraph
Ctrl + L / Ctrl + RLeft and Right justify text
Ctrl + Shit + *Turns on and off the display non printable text
Ctrl + ZUndoes last action
Ctrl + YRedoes last action
EscCancels last action
Ctrl+ [Decreases one font size
Ctrl+]Increases by one font size
Alt + W, and the Alt + QOpens Zoom tool
Alt + QGo to “Tell me what you want to do”
Ctrl + OOpen a document
Ctrl + WClose a document

Ctrl + NNew document
Ctrl +PPrint a document

Shift + Arrows keysSelect text character by character
Shift + HomeSelects the text to the beginning of the line.
Shift+ EndSelects the text to the end of the line.
Alt+ Shift +C or Ctrl + Alt +SRemove the document window split.
Shift + PgUpSelects text page up
Shift + PgDNSelects text page down
ALTBrings up the letters which allows you to have quick access to different parts in Word’s menus. AKA Ribbon keyboard shortcuts.

Ctrl + HFind and replace
Ctrl + KInserts a hyperlink
ALT + FBrings up the File Tab
ALT + HOpens the Home Tab
Alt + NOpens the Insert Tab
Alt + GOpens the Design Tab
Alt + POpens the Layout Tab
Alt + SOpens the Reference Tab
Alt + MOpens the Mailings Tab
Alt + ROpens the Review Tab
Alt + WOpens the View Tab
Ctrl + F1Expands or collapse the ribbon
Ctrl + F10Opens Content menu
